Engine Diagnostics
In order to meet and sustain emission requirements, vehicles are equipped with electronic engine control systems. These systems are sophisticated and and do not require very much service or adjustments. Spark plug and filter replacement must be done on a scheduled basis.
Your vehicle has a network of sensors and switches that send information to the computer. These change the engine operating conditions into electrical signals. The information and instructions that are in the computer are then sent to the following systems: Ignition, Fuel and Emission Control.
The sensors that make up this system are as follows:
-
Mass Airflow
-
Throttle Position
-
Manifold Pressure
-
Coolant Temperature
-
Exhaust Oxygen
-
Crankshaft Position
-
Camshaft Position
