Belts and Hoses
The belts and hoses in your vehicle wear out faster then any other compenent. It is important to have regular inspections to monitor for wear caused by vibration, heat and contamination of harmful chemicals. If left unchecked, these belts and hoses will eventually crack, peel, frey and leak.
It is important to check for glazing, cracking peeling or softening. We will also check for proper tension, alignment of the pulleys and the condition of each belt. Hose will be checked for leaks, cracks, hardening or softening. To test for leaks, we use pressure technology. A leaking hose or a cracked belt could cause quite a bit of trouble.
There are many accessories in your vehicle that use a system of pulley's and belts such as: alternator, water pump, power steering pump, air conditioning compressor and the radiator cooling fan.
The hoses in your vehicle are made up of two rubber layers and contain a layer of fabric in between. These hoses carry fluids that your car needs. Radiator and heater hoses carry coolant to the engine and the heater core. The power steering hose connects the power steering pump to the steering gear, and the fuel hose carries gasoline from the tank into your engine.
